Lauren impressively has studied her AAT Level 2, 3 and now 4 with us at ICS Learn. Read her story to find out more about her learning journey with us.
Currently, I am working as part of an accounts team for a large manufacturing company, CCL Label Limited. My title is Accounts Executive, but mainly I focus on Accounts Receivable.
I started my accounts journey with ICS Learn back in 2018 when I gained my Level 2 AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting. This helped me land an entry-level assistant accounts role at the company I am still with now.
My employer helped put me through Level 3 AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting, which allowed me to take on more responsibilities within the accounts department, and helped me receive a pay rise along with the increased responsibilities. After a short break from studying, I am now doing my Level 4 AAT Professional Diploma in accounting with the hopes to advance my accounting career further in the near future.
I chose to Study with ICS Learn, as it allowed me the flexibility to study as and when I wanted to, so I was able to maintain a good work/life balance, which is important to me.
I initially had reservations not being in a classroom environment and having other students to bounce off, however having access to the student community, as well as my own tutor who I could contact at any time, made up for what would usually be part of classroom learning and I soon became adapt to that kind of study.
My qualification has helped me progress within my current role taking on greater responsibilities and being able to understand tasks which my manager gave me.
My plan is to complete my AAT Level 4, and then possibly looking for work as part of an accountant practice as opposed to manufacturing, so I can continue to gain on my accounts experience and progress further along in my career.
I would definitely recommend ICS Learn. It gave me the flexibility to advance my career whilst being able to progress in my current full time role, but also enjoy time away from the office. The platform and resources were easy to navigate, and any queries were responded to quickly.
ICS Learn gave me the confidence and clarification that I can always continue to learn new things, no matter what stage I am at in life.
