Suddenly a single mum, Kelly wanted to find a better way to support her and her son. That's when she decided to enrol on an AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting with us.
I, unfortunately, became a single mother after a relationship break-up. Worrying about how I was going to bring up a child on my own, I was constantly searching for a solution.
I knew I could not go into a low-paid part-time job, as that wasn’t going to help us much.
I needed to be qualified in a high-paying profession and something that I could perhaps do on a self-employed basis after experience so that I could fit work around my child.
I thought about office work and then looked into bookkeeping courses and then accounting courses. I decided to embark on the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting.

Online learning is the ideal way for me to study because I have a young child. I can fit in my studying when he is at school and when he is in bed. I find it extremely easy to navigate the website and it saves my place in the course, so when I resume, I'm on the correct page.
I think the course is nicely presented and it is great to follow the proposed study plan. Also, having live classes and recorded classes is a welcome break from just reading words on a screen. My tutor is very prompt in answering my emails too, so I feel supported all along the way.
Getting back into studying has given me self-esteem and I feel like I am working towards something that will make my life better in the future.
I would recommend studying with ICS Learn because there is a lot of support from the tutors and the administration team. Also, the website is easy to navigate, every point is explained in a clear, simple way with examples that makes it easy to understand.
