GCSE Student Stories: Patrick Bradshaw | A Level English Review

Patrick walked away with a A* in A Level English which allowed him to then go onto university and study his passion! Find how he got on in his student story.

My name is Patrick Bradshaw, I am twenty-one years old and I studied my English A-Level with ICS Learn, in the space of a year of studying I managed to attain an A* grade.

When I first studied at my local college in 2017 to 2019, I did terrible in my exams because I just simply had no interest in trying to do them well. I just didn’t care at the time. I decided in early 2021, after taking a year out from going to University and working at a Pets At Home throughout the pandemic, to study an A-Level again in case I ever decide to go to University.

ICS Learn was the perfect place for me to study, it was cheap and affordable compared to any of the local colleges in my area.

Everyone I checked, charged returning students an obscene amount of money which seemed ridiculous to me, as though they would rather hinder education instead of support it.

ICS allowed me to study at my own times, my own pace and working around my full-time job was never an issue. My tutors were incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the year and I can credit them as one of the most impactful and important reasons why I managed to get as high a grade as I did.

With my A* qualification, I can now plan on going to a good university next year, something I didn’t imagine I would be able to do at all over a year ago. I plan to study Film and Screenwriting at university, two of my biggest passions in life, and I can credit this opportunity to ICS Learn.

I would 100% recommend ICS Learn as a place to study for either new or returning students, it has helped me massively in furthering both my education and potential career.
